HYSTEROSCOPIC REMOVAL OF MISSING COPPER T

HYSTEROSCOPIC REMOVAL OF MISSING COPPER T

Hysteroscopic removal of missing copper T refers to a surgical procedure that involves the removal of a lost or displaced intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD), specifically a copper T IUD, using a hysteroscope.

During the procedure, a hysteroscope, which is a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light attached to the end, is inserted through the vagina and cervix and into the uterus. The surgeon then uses specialized instruments to locate and remove the missing or displaced copper T IUD.

Hysteroscopic removal of a missing copper T IUD is typically performed on an outpatient basis under local or general anesthesia, and patients can usually go home the same day. Recovery time is usually short, with most women able to resume normal activities within a few days.

If a copper T IUD is not removed, it can lead to complications such as infection, uterine perforation, or migration of the device to other parts of the body. Therefore, timely removal is important.

As with any surgical procedure, there are risks and potential complications associated with hysteroscopic removal of a missing copper T IUD, such as bleeding, infection, or injury to the uterus or surrounding organs.
