Urology

The Urology Department offers a wide range of medical and surgical services related to the urinary system (kidneys, bladder and urethra) and the male genital system and prostate.
One area of special interest is genito-urinary cancer, including cancer of the prostate, bladder, kidneys and testicles. Prostate cancer is an extremely common problem, with a growing public awareness and a growing array of surgical and non-surgical management options. We provide an integrated approach to cancer, with input from consultants in urology, radiation oncology and medical oncology.

Urology Services

Our services also include a wide range of medical and surgical treatment options for men with benign (noncancerous) enlargement of the prostate. This condition, known as Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), makes properly emptying the bladder difficult. We offer a range of treatments, including medications, Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), and the minimally invasive treatments such as green light laser TURP.
Treatment choices for people with urinary incontinence (leakage) are also expanding. The Urology Department is now able to offer treatments ranging from behaviour modification to the newest minimally invasive surgery.

We also offer state-of-the-art treatment of:

  • Kidney stones
  • Female organ prolapse
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Testicular cancer
  • Vasectomy
  • Vasectomy reversal (vasostomy)

Lap Nephrectomy ( Total /Partial)

Nephrectomy means a surgical procedure in which a part of the kidney or a complete kidney is removed. When a kidney is damaged or when the kidney is having cancerous growths, or when kidney is donated for transplantation, nephrectomy becomes inevitable. Nephrectomy can be done in the traditional way of open surgery through a large incision in the abdomen or the side. This surgery can be done as Laparoscopic Surgery through three or four small incisions.
